The Pigeon Town Steppers annual Easter Parade is always a highlight on the parade calendar. It is one of the only parades that rolls way way Uptown in the Carrollton, Hollygrove, Oak St. and Leonidas neighborhoods, otherwise unfamiliar territory for most Sunday parades. Rebirth Brass Band band leader and sousaphone player Phil Frazier's partner is affiliated with the Club, and when Rebirth still rolled second line parades, they would play this parade every year. This year, the Club had TBC brass band and Da Truth brass band play their two divisions, two of the hottest bands on the street today. In this clip, TBC drops an arrangement of "On Broadway" while rolling down Broadway St. towards Claiborne. I've never heard a brass band cover this one, and it makes me wonder if they learned it just for this gig.
